IBA Official Cocktails

On the date of November 2nd 1960, on the occasion of the annual IBA Congress held in the Hotel Scribe Paris, Mr. Angelo Zola proposed to form a committee with the task of codifying a limited number of drinks at an international level. This was on the basis of the most popular cocktails served by Bartenders in each country.

In 1961 in Norway at the Gausdal Mountain Hotel in Oslo, the first official I.B.A. Cocktail List of 50 cocktails was created and approved.
Since then, the official IBA Cocktail list has been an important reference point for all professionals in the Bars sector. It also represents the starting point for all Bartenders and Students of Hotel Schools all over the world.

The official IBA Cocktail List recognizes the most requested recipes, used over the years by bartenders servicing the most important bars all over the world. This list has led to a grand evolution in the world of mixed drinks.

Fashion trends and the passages of time have brought a resurgence of some of the most notable IBA cocktails, bringing them back to into the spotlight. These cocktails are in high demand today when they had seemed to have been ‘forgotten’. Some IBA cocktails remain even more classic than ever, resisting familiarity and remaining popular around the world as symbols of class and prestige.

We are proud to present to you, under a meticulously prepared photographic review our Officially updated IBA Cocktail List!
